Max is a great tour guide. A PhD history student with a depth of knowledge and an entertaining way of conveying it. Gave us a new perspective of Sydney.

Thank you Max for a fabulous tour. We are from Sydney and we really enjoyed it. Your extensive knowledge of and passion for Sydney’s history was evident throughout the tour. It was fascinating and entertaining, with just the right amount of historic detail mixed with fun stories, and never dull or laborious. It was great to wander the back lanes of Circular Quay and The Rocks and finish in a lovely, historic pub. We will definitely be booking the other tours.

Max is a very well informed, enthusiastic and engaging guide who really bought the history to life, pointing out many features we have previously passed by, providing context for the first few years of Sydney’s history. A thoroughly enjoyable and fascinating tour, recommend for locals and interstate visitors. We’ll certainly be taking more of these tours very soon.

Thoroughly enjoyed our tour yesterday with April. We saw parts of Sydney we have never seen, her knowledge of the area and its history is second to none. Her commentary brings the past to life.

Today my sister and I joined this walking tour with April who took us on a journey into the past history of Sydney Cove and the Rocks area. As descendants of the First Fleet, we thought we knew a little of our history, but we quickly realised that April was far more knowledgeable on the subject. Her enthusiasm was contagious and her stories were captivating! Highly recommend this tour!

Danica was an engaging and enthusiastic guide who brought history alive. They were fun, knowledgeable and inspiring. What a great way to understand Sydney, and I will never look at Circular Quay and The Rocks in the same way again. Highly recommended

Two friends, an Aussie and an American went on this tour whilst in Sydney in March 2020, (just before covid 19 lockdown) and both came away having learnt a lot and having had a great time. Young Max was a terrific tour guide, well spoken, knowledgeable, relaxed and friendly. This tour was well paced and a bargain. A great small group tour. I had lost my information on this tour which is why it has taken a while to review. I was also prompted by the lovely email update from Max (I’m guessing Big Max) about their restarting the tours after all these months of Covid uncertainty, which only goes to show how much this companies professionalism extends. I’m stuck in closed borders but I can say, without hesitation I sincerely recommend this tour and this tour company to anyone who wants to learn something new and have some fun in the process. I will return to support you when I can return to Sydney. The praise this business gets is well earned. Good luck.

April was our quide and she was exceptional. She has a great educational background which becomes apparent as she recounts tales of the past in Sydney. We knew nothing about the convicts and the Rocks and what an important part of Sydney history they represent. Well worth the investment!!
